We spent so much money trying to make Gucci!!
The first time we bred Mugsy we used frozen semen from a dog we loved in
the 1980's. When it didn't take, the Repro Specialist saw a cyst
on Mugsy's ovary which was suspicious for the reason she didn't take.
(Later we used semen from that dog again and later it was determined
that the semen may not have been good. It has never been proven.)
After close observation from the repro vet, treatment and more tests on
the next heat cycle, we decided to breed her to Noodles with fresh
cooled semen from Conneticut. However, Noodles plans to travel
back home were stopped by bad weather leaving him to chill a bit longer
in California. Thom and Mugsy jumped in the car with a
progesterone that never seemed high enough and got the breeding done.
There were 3 girls in the litter and we loved them all but ultimately
chose Gucci for her length of back, cobbiness, and adorable cheeks!
